Association management
GAC is often hired as an agent and takes care of financial administration, accounting and seeks financing through fundings and grants.
Here are some of the associations hiring GAC's services:
Brötz
Every Wednesday, the association Brötz arranges concerts with modern jazz/free improvised music at the Konstepidemin – a former epidemic hospital area now transformed into a hub for diverse artistic expressions, visual art, music and dance – in Gothenburg. Over the years, Brötz has arranged almost 700 concerts and is the recipient of annual support from the City of Gothenburg and the Swedish Arts Council. GAC is a continuous partner of Brötz and has coached the association with organizational issues and financial management and assists with the association's annual financial statements and audit.
Kalvfestivalen - International Venue for New Music Development
Since 2004, the association Kalvfestivalen arranges an annual festival for contemporary art music in Kalv, which is part of the Svenjunga municipality in Västra Götaland. GAC handles the association's finances, including accounting, salaries, financial statements and auditing.
Nya Perspektiv
Västerås Alternativa Musikscen (Vasteras alternative music scene), is a non-profit independent association presenting contemporary improvised music, art music and related creative expressions. GAC takes care of the association's accounting, financial statements and auditing.
Bunkern (Cultural Association the Bunker)
When GAC started in 1995, one of GAC's first missions was to initiate and plan for rehearsal spaces in the former Academy of Music and Folkuniversitetet. In 1998, the non-profit association Kulturföreningen Bunkern was formed as the trustee for the premises. Bunkern now consists of about 30 rehearsal rooms totaling about 1,000 sqm which are used by about 150 professional musicians for individual work, rehearsals and recordings. These activities generate about 6,000 to 7,000 concerts per year.
In addition to GAC, the premises are also home to the associations Gothenburg Art Sounds, Levande Musik (Living Music) and Kalvfestivalen. GAC is a continuous partner to Bunkern, not least in terms of its finances, organizational development and external concert arrangements. The association activities are supported by the City of Gothenburg. In addition, GAC offers free individual advice to members of the association Bunkern.
MUKO
Muko is a musician-driven booking cooperative that was formed in 2012 by six professional musicians in Gothenburg in folk, world, jazz and improvisational music. Muko handles a total of ten orchestras with around 40 musicians from West Sweden. The cooperative is focused on international relations and interacts with festivals, stages, organizers, artist-run organizations and individual musicians around the world.
